Brooklyn Mirage Postpones Memorial Day Weekend Shows Due to Permit Delays

The Brooklyn Mirage has once again delayed its highly anticipated reopening, with all concerts through Memorial Day weekend officially postponed due to ongoing permit issues. The venue, operated by Avant Gardner, confirmed the news in a public statement released Tuesday, stating that while progress is being made, performances must be pushed back until regulatory approvals are in place.

Memorial Day Weekend Events Rescheduled

Originally set to headline the holiday weekend were The Chainsmokers, who were scheduled for a pair of shows. These concerts have now been rescheduled for August 7 and 8, with all ticket-holders receiving updates via email and text regarding rescheduling and refund options.

Despite the disappointing news, venue officials remain optimistic.

“Although the Brooklyn Mirage is opening later than anticipated, we are making great progress towards opening our doors,” said the management team. “We take full responsibility for the delay and are working closely with the City of New York to ensure all regulations are met so that we can offer a safe and unforgettable experience.”

The Chainsmokers React to Postponement

The Chainsmokers expressed their frustration on Instagram Stories, sharing their disappointment with fans.

“We are being told the venue still does not have the permitting required to open,” they wrote. “We are truly devastated. We put so much into building an amazing show for our favorite city, but this is just how things go sometimes.”

Why the Delay?

The Brooklyn Mirage was initially scheduled to reopen on May 2, following major renovations and upgrades. However, delays in final compliance from city inspectors have halted progress. The venue has not received the necessary permitting to resume operations, forcing management to indefinitely postpone the relaunch.

This marks yet another chapter in a series of setbacks for the open-air venue, which has promised a dramatic overhaul featuring a redesigned stage, enhanced sound and lighting systems, and cutting-edge visual technology.

A New Era Under New Leadership

Now led by CEO Josh Wyatt, Avant Gardner has been spearheading the transformation of Brooklyn Mirage. Wyatt recently spoke with EDM.com, offering insight into the scale of the changes.

“When you walk into Brooklyn Mirage for the first time, you’re going to see a set design that will blow you away. And then, when you return a few weeks later, the entire setup will have changed. We’re developing a bespoke system that’s never been done before—and it’s mind-blowing.”

What’s Next for Brooklyn Mirage?

While there’s no confirmed reopening date yet, Avant Gardner has committed to sharing an update by the end of this week. The team insists they are working “24/7” to meet expectations and deliver the high-impact, immersive experience Brooklyn Mirage is known for.

Fans are encouraged to follow the venue’s official Instagram for the latest announcements and updates on the reopening timeline.
