After thousands of fans were left without tickets for his sold-out Red Rocks return, GRiZ is giving Denver another chance to see him live, this time completely free.
The Detroit-born, Denver-based electronic artist has announced two free performances at JUNKYARD on September 27, 2026, with sets scheduled for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The shows arrive as a direct response to the overwhelming demand surrounding his recent Red Rocks performances.
GRiZ Brings “Free Shows for the People” Back to Denver
The upcoming performances continue GRiZ’s long-running “Free Shows for the People” tradition, a series of surprise and last-minute events designed to give back to the communities that have supported him throughout his career.
This time, the gesture comes after GRiZ’s highly anticipated return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre earlier this month. The two-night engagement marked his first headline appearance at the legendary Colorado venue in five years and quickly became one of the most in-demand events on his 2026 calendar.
Rather than leaving disappointed fans on the outside, GRiZ decided to create another opportunity.
“I know how crazy it was getting Red Rocks tix,” the artist wrote on Instagram, explaining that many fans had been unable to attend. He subsequently announced the free JUNKYARD shows and confirmed that merchandise profits would also support Denver-area charities.
Two Free Sets, One Day at JUNKYARD
The September 27 event will take place at JUNKYARD in Denver, with performances scheduled for both the afternoon and evening.
The venue’s official listings confirm the two GRiZ performances at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 27.
The decision to stage two sets gives GRiZ the opportunity to reach considerably more fans while maintaining the intimate character that has become part of the appeal of his Free Shows for the People concept.
The event is listed as free, although fans still need to register for access. Current event information also states that tickets are non-transferable and cannot be resold.
Merchandise Sales Will Support Local Charities
GRiZ is extending the community focus beyond the music itself.
According to his announcement, 100% of merchandise profits from the September 27 event will go toward local Denver charities. That makes the JUNKYARD performances more than simply an extra date following the Red Rocks ticket rush. They also continue an established connection between GRiZ and the communities surrounding his Colorado home.
The artist has repeatedly used his platform to combine electronic music with charitable initiatives, and the latest event places that philosophy directly at the center of the experience.
A Bigger Denver Return Is Already Planned
For fans who cannot make the September shows, GRiZ has also hinted that this will not be his last major Denver appearance.
The artist told fans to expect a larger Denver return in 2027, with plans for a bigger venue capable of accommodating more people.
That announcement comes as GRiZ prepares to close out an already busy 2026. His remaining schedule includes an appearance at John Summit’s Experts Only Festival in New York, alongside three performances at his own Seven Stars Festival.
For now, however, Denver gets the most immediate reward: two chances to see GRiZ without a ticket price attached.
