EXIT Festival Founder Dušan Kovačević Plans Unprecedented Multi-Stage Event at the Pyramids of Giza
The iconic Great Pyramids of Giza are set to become the backdrop for a groundbreaking new chapter in global music festivals. According to IQ Magazine, EXIT Festival founder and CEO Dušan Kovačević is organizing the first-ever multi-day, multi-stage music festival at the world’s oldest surviving Wonder—the Pyramids of Egypt.
Set to debut in October 2026, the event will operate under a new festival name and identity, designed to reflect the powerful symbolism of its location. While official dates are yet to be announced, the planning is reportedly in its final stages.
“We feel that the pyramids are so symbolic that this event will have everything that EXIT stands for,” said Kovačević. “There is a lot of darkness everywhere in the world, but many people see the pyramids as pillars of light, so we will be making a strong message with that.”
From Serbia to the Sands of Egypt: A Visionary Expansion
EXIT Festival, previously held annually at Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia, concluded its 25th and final edition in July 2025 amid political pressure following student-led protests in Novi Sad. The festival lost government funding after aligning with demonstrations over a railway canopy collapse that tragically claimed 16 lives in November 2024.
Despite EXIT’s pause in Serbia, Kovačević is forging ahead with his global vision. The upcoming Egypt-based event marks a major leap for the brand, merging ancient wonder with cutting-edge electronic music.
EXIT is partnering with Venture Lifestyle, an Egypt-based promoter behind past concerts by Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, and Black Eyed Peas, ensuring strong local support and large-scale production capabilities.
Electronic Music Takes Center Stage
While no official lineups have been revealed, the new festival is expected to center around electronic music, a signature of EXIT’s legacy. Previous editions of EXIT have hosted global icons such as Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Eric Prydz, and more.
Although this marks the first-ever full-scale, multi-day festival at the Pyramids, the site has hosted numerous EDM performances in recent years. Artists like Carl Cox, Above & Beyond, and Keinemusik have already brought beats to the sands of Giza, with Anyma scheduled to perform there on October 10, 2025.
A Festival Like No Other
Kovačević’s upcoming venture has the potential to become one of the most unique music festivals on the planet, combining timeless history with contemporary sound. The Great Pyramids of Giza—a location steeped in mystique and global significance—offer a dreamlike setting for a festival that aims to be more than just music. It’s a spiritual and cultural experience rooted in the symbolism of light, unity, and global connection.
More details, including dates, ticketing, and artist announcements, are expected in the coming months.
