Tomorrowland Launches Architecture Studio to Bring Fantasy Aesthetic to Real-World Spaces

Tomorrowland, the world-famous electronic dance music festival, is taking its signature fantasy aesthetics beyond the festival grounds with the launch of the Great Library Design Studio. This innovative initiative is a collaboration with acclaimed architect Dieter Vander Velpen, known for his “couture architecture” approach. Together, they aim to bring Tomorrowland’s dreamlike designs into luxury real-world spaces, transforming the festival’s iconic visual storytelling into permanent architectural masterpieces.

A Vision Inspired by Fantasy and Nature

The Great Library Design Studio is inspired by Tomorrowland’s immersive “Great Library of Tomorrow” exhibition. This exhibition, which opened in December 2023 in Barcelona, invites visitors on a captivating journey through the magical universe of Tomorrowland. Combining digital art installations with virtual reality experiences, it highlights the festival’s rich history, core values, and artistic vision. With the design studio, Tomorrowland seeks to extend this magic beyond the festival, allowing people to experience it year-round in everyday spaces.

At the heart of this ambitious project is the desire to blend Tomorrowland’s identity with architectural influences from Art Nouveau and the natural world. According to Dieter Vander Velpen, the design philosophy draws from organic shapes found in nature—plants, trees, and the delicate details of living creatures. “We find inspiration in nature—plants, trees, and even small details from animals and living beings,” Vander Velpen explains. “It’s about creating a subtle reference that comes together in an understated yet visually stunning way.”

Luxury Spaces Reimagined

The Great Library Design Studio will focus on creating custom designs for luxury hotels, entertainment venues, and high-end residences. By integrating Tomorrowland’s signature mix of fantasy and sophistication, the studio aims to craft immersive environments that inspire a sense of wonder and escapism—core themes that have defined Tomorrowland for over 20 years.

Introducing the “Morpho” Collection

One of the studio’s most exciting projects is “Morpho,” a bespoke collection of furniture, lighting, and décor inspired by nature. This collection reflects the studio’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovative design. Scheduled for release in April 2025, Morpho will allow fans and design enthusiasts to bring a touch of Tomorrowland’s ethereal magic into their own homes. Each piece will be meticulously crafted by specialized artisans, factories, and workshops, ensuring a unique and immersive aesthetic.

Expanding Beyond Music and Entertainment

The collaboration between Tomorrowland and Dieter Vander Velpen represents a major evolution for the festival. It signals a bold move beyond music and entertainment into the worlds of architecture and interior design. By transforming the temporary magic of the festival into lasting, tangible spaces, Tomorrowland continues to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

This initiative also reflects a growing trend where brands create immersive experiences that extend into daily life. As audiences seek deeper and more transformative experiences, the Great Library Design Studio positions Tomorrowland as a leader in designing fantasy-inspired environments that blur the line between imagination and reality. With a team of dedicated designers, artisans, and visionaries, Tomorrowland is set to redefine how people experience luxury and design in their everyday lives.

“We’re excited to finally share what we’ve been working on with our dedicated team over the past few years,” Vander Velpen said. The launch of the Great Library Design Studio marks a new chapter for Tomorrowland, where music, storytelling, and design converge to create magical, otherworldly experiences far beyond the festival’s iconic grounds.
