Alina Razumenko – ALIIRA
Alina Razumenko, also known as ALIIRA, is set to release her latest EP, “Emirembe,” on July 19, 2024. Based in Barcelona, Spain, ALIIRA’s EP features three tracks: “Emirembe,” “Bambasini,” and “So Good.” The title track, “Emirembe,” holds special significance for her. The word “Emirembe,” meaning “peace” in Luganda, represents her first major project after abandoning music due to the war in her homeland. Inspired by Black Coffee, ALIIRA channeled her pain and hope for peace into this track, making it a cathartic expression of her experiences and the collective will of Ukrainians.
ALIIRA has long admired Cafe De Anatolia, a label known for its blend of organic and electronic sounds. Releasing her tracks with them was a dream come true, reinforcing her belief in the transformative power of music. Her journey began in childhood, influenced by her family and self-taught piano skills. She later pursued DJing and music production, overcoming perfectionism to release her work. Her career, marked by significant milestones with Duo Husky, has now entered a new chapter post-pandemic and war.
Inspiration for ALIIRA often comes from silence, nature, and routine activities. She also draws from books, other artists’ music, and simple pleasures like spending time with friends. Influenced by artists such as Black Coffee, Zakes Bantwini, Kasango, Phonique, Pablo Fierro, and Hugel, ALIIRA continues to push creative boundaries. Her latest releases include “Emirembe,” “Bambasini,” and “So Good,” with two more tracks pending release. She is currently working on her first remix of a popular song, collaborations with other artists, and a track featuring her own vocals.
One pivotal piece of advice from DJ and producer WHITENO1SE has guided her: “Invest in yourself, do everything on your own, start by yourself, and don’t depend on anyone else.” This philosophy has shaped her proactive approach to her career. To stay motivated and inspired, ALIIRA creates conducive environments, disconnects from social media, and practices techniques from books like “The Artist’s Way” and “Big Magic.” Morning pages and staying open to new strategies help her maintain creativity.
Alina Razumenko (ALIIRA) invites listeners to experience “Emirembe,” a testament to resilience and the power of music to heal and inspire.
